With combined experience of over 30 years in financial services, you’ll be in safe hands.
Our backgrounds prior to Perception Finance were in banking and estate agency advice so we understand all sectors of the house buying process. This helps in not just providing support up to the point of purchase but also once the mortgage is underway.
I started in financial services in 1990 with Halifax and over the 9 years I worked there I covered a range of roles from cashier at the start through to broker support and call centre management at the end. It certainly taught me all the skills needed to be where I am today.
Having finished there I took time out in life to travel for nearly 3 years. There is nothing quite like seeing the world without the pressures to come home after 2-3 weeks from holiday!
I moved to London soon after returning (from my home roots of Portsmouth) and have not looked back. Being Managing Director of Perception Finance is challenging but rewarding and even in the tough days I am extremely happy to be where I am.
In my spare time I get to the gym as much as I can in between a busy social life. I like to get away from London as much as possible at weekends as well with short breaks in Europe the current enjoyment.
I began my financial services career with Legal and General in 1998 and after four years with L&G and studying for the Financial Planning Certificate, it was the right time to take a year out and travel. On my return I started work in the mortgage industry, experiencing life at Charcol in both front and back office roles before becoming a mortgage broker for Arun Estates.
Having worked as an estate agency broker for 12 months, I joined Perception Finance in 2005 and worked my way up from mortgage broker, to sales manager to becoming a Director in 2007.
Customer service is my passion and excelling in this area is what makes Perception Finance successful. We experience poor and often dreadful service every day in financial services and we want to change our client’s view in this area.
In my spare time I commute to the office from Haywards Heath where I enjoy sport, gardening and fine wine.
After returning from travelling for a year and having no idea on my plans for the future I took a temporary role with the then Abbey National in a mortgage call centre. Fifteen years later I’m still in the industry! From the Abbey National I moved to London (from my home town of Southampton) where I worked for the Clydesdale Bank administrating mortgage applications, I then spent 7 years at Coutts & Co dealing with the conveyancing side of the mortgage industry.
Joining Perception Finance was the ideal opportunity to bring together all of my mortgage experience and get the chance to speak to clients directly which is something I’d missed in my previous role. I enjoy the process of helping clients achieve their goals and help them make sense of an industry that is constantly evolving.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming, cycling and am currently trying to learn Spanish, with a heavy emphasis on the word trying
In 2007, I worked for a property developers where I carried out various administration roles. The following year, I joined Marks and Spencer where I worked in customer service and recruitment for 6 years. My role was heavily involved in providing excellent customer service to all customers on a daily basis. At times, this can be quite challenging under pressure.
In 2009, I began working in recruitment during peak seasons where I developed a good background in recruitment and training within the HR department. This allowed me to broaden my skills within the company. My days were often long hours but it was very rewarding.
I joined Perception Finance in 2014 as part of sales support. Having already had a strong background in customer service, I want to continue giving the best possible service to our customers.
In my spare time, I enjoy socialising and frequently shopping in Selfridges.
For every mortgage application we process we donate £25 to Trinity Hospice.
